Joint Sponsorship for ACOG Educational Programs
Through its joint sponsorship program, ACOG assists the Districts and Sections in providing high quality continuing medical education meetings. Since the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) does not independently accredit most of these groups, they may apply to the National office for ACOG Joint Sponsorship. As the accredited sponsor, ACOG National must be involved, from the onset, in planning the program. Your district representative from the Committee on Course Coordination (CCC) is appointed liaison to your program and reports to the CCC. It is recommended that this person be named to your program planning committee. Through this representative, ACOG is able to provide the ACCME with documentation of our involvement in the planning. The District representatives are familiar with the Essentials and Standards and will be able to ensure that you meet them. Once a topic, date and location have been selected, you should contact Christina McCallister at ACOG (202) 863-2555 or via email at
cmccallister@acog.org
for an application that must be returned at least four months prior to the program. Other organizations in obstetrics and gynecology that conduct continuing medical education programs may, by specific arrangement, apply for Joint Sponsorship to the ACOG National office as well.
