This section describes websites that provide overview material on the topic and substantial information about abortion.  The information is useful for both health care providers and the public.

The Alan Guttmacher Institute (AGI)

The Alan Guttmacher Institute is a nonprofit organization focused on sexual and reproductive health research, policy analysis and public education. AGI publishes state and federal fact sheets on abortion, state and federal policies on abortion and current research in their journal, Perspectives on Sexual and Reproductive Health.

Association of Reproductive Health Professionals (ARHP)

ARHP has an Abortion Resource Center that includes important information about legislation and advocacy on the topic of abortion and important facts about abortion in the US and abroad.

Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF)

Statistics about abortion including abortion rates, state and federal abortion laws and unintended pregnancy information are available through the Kaiser Family Foundation, which has a dedicated women's health policy page (http://www.kff.org/womenshealth/repro.cfm).  These websites are updated frequently and provide both state and federal information.

National Abortion Federation (NAF)

NAF is the professional association of abortion providers in the United States and Canada.  NAF offers information on policy regarding abortion and training and services to abortion providers.

Planned Parenthood Federation of America

The site offers extensive information on abortion and birth control. Planned Parenthood is the biggest overall abortion provider in the US and the website has information on the medical and advocacy aspects of abortion.
