Chair’s report

Dr. Donald K. BryanDonald K. Bryan, MD

The Annual District Meetings are undergoing significant changes, largely due to the meetings being combined for financial reasons. The combined meetings have created problems that we hope to address, such as being held too far away. Along with electronic CME, the ADMs need to present more practical information rather than information that is purely academic.

The 2014 ADM will be held October 10–12 with District VII in Indianapolis at the JW Marriott. The meeting will give attendees up-to-date information to help with ob-gyn practice. It will also offer information on coding, discussions of current controversies, and help with the increasing confusion surrounding medical practice management.

The recently established Physician Payment Sunshine Act has dissuaded many practitioners from developing relationships with manufacturers, making it more difficult to obtain information on new products, innovations, and medications. We hope to have a variety of exhibitors at the ADM to provide us with information as it relates to our practice. If you know of any exhibitors who wish to contribute, please direct them to the exhibitor prospectus on the District V website. More information on the meeting will be forthcoming. I hope to see you there.
