2013 CREOG Leadership Workshop for Residents

The 2013 CREOG Leadership Workshop Brochure is available To view the brochure and registration form click here

PURPOSE

The purpose of this program is to equip senior residents with the knowledge and skills necessary to serve as leaders and exemplary teachers for the residents and medical students for whom they are responsible. It is expected that by the end of the program participants will have learned general principles of leadership and education, as well as specific tips for immediate practice and application.

INTENDED PARTICIPANTS

The curriculum is designed for residents enrolled in obstetrics and gynecology graduate medical education programs with direct responsibilities for education administration and teaching. Administrative responsibilities may include scheduling, coaching, and serving as a liaison between the program director and other residents for addressing interpersonal issues, providing performance feedback, and guiding clinical and educational activities. Given the intricacies of balancing a personal and professional life, residents gain great insight into how best to manage themselves in both arenas. The end result is residency programs benefiting by greater clinical efficiency, better educational outcomes, improved interpersonal relationships, and overall improved effectiveness on the part of program participants and, to a degree, others in the program. These skills are logically carried into their subsequent practices.
