The following immunizations are recommended for women in this age group:

Diphtheria and reduced tetanus toxoids and acellular pertussis vaccine booster (Tdap) or tetanus-diphtheria booster (Td)

A shot to immunize against the diseases tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis

Substitute one-time dose of Tdap for TD booster shot that is given every 10 years

Herpes zoster vaccine
|
A shot to help prevent shingles, painful blisters caused by varicella
|
Once if aged 60 years and older and not previously immunized
|

Influenza vaccine
|
A shot to help prevent influenza (the flu)

Yearly

|
Measles–mumps–rubella vaccine
|
A shot to immunize against measles, mumps, and rubella
|
For those born in 1957 or later, if not previously immunized
|
|
Varicella vaccine
|
A series of two shots to help prevent chickenpox
|
One series if not previously immunized or never had chickenpox
