Spring is the time for new beginnings. Trying something new in a healthy and positive way can provide a fresh perspective on life as well as improve brain functioning with a novel challenge. Seeking out something new doesn't even require extra time – try brushing your teeth with the opposite hand, starting your marketing from the other end of the store, taking a different route to work, experimenting with a different eatery for lunch, or listening to a different radio station. If you can prioritize some extra time, what about taking a class or joining a book club, visiting a museum or other local attraction you’ve never seen before, or starting a new hobby or form of exercise you’ve always wanted to try? What first easy step could you do to get started?

Continue this sense of adventure and curiosity throughout the year with your birth date – if you were born on the 10th of the month, for example, every 10th of the month pencil in an idea to explore something new.
