Safe Motherhood Initiative

Spotlight

Over the past 18 months, District II has held quarterly meetings comprised of Ob-Gyn leaders and experts in the field of women’s health care. During these meetings, SMI workgroup members and hospital participants had multiple opportunities to comment on, edit, and vet all materials contained within the bundles among one another – a testament to their dedication and commitment to improving the care of all pregnant women across New York State. The marked enthusiasm from Ob-Gyns and hospital support staff is reflected in our ever growing attendance with participation from over 100 maternity care hospitals.
