John Gibbons Medical Student Travel Award
What it is:
The John Gibbons Medical Student Award program is offered to help encourage medical students to select obstetrics and gynecology as their chosen specialty. John M. Gibbons Jr., MD is a past president of ACOG who recognized the importance of medical students to the future of our specialty. This award is currently being offered to help supplement medical student travel expenses incurred while attending the ACOG 2016 Annual Clinical & Scientific Meeting (ACM), Washington, DC, May 14 - 17, 2016.
How to Apply:
All ACGME accredited New York State medical school clerkship directors are invited to submit the names of active, ACOG District II medical students in good standing who are current 3rd or 4th year students. Email your submission - that includes a short paragraph detailing the medical student's demonstrated interest in obstetrics and gynecology - to firstname.lastname@example.org. A total of five awards are available for the 2016 Annual Clinical & Scientific Meeting.
- Tuesday, March 15, 2016, is the last day to apply for the travel award to the 2016 ACM
Medical Students who participate in the program will be asked to submit a post-ACM experience report (one-page) to the District II Advisory Council. Click here to read past medical student experiences.
