John Gibbons Medical Student Award Opportunities

Each District is responsible for awarding the John M. Gibbons Medical Student Award each year. The award is used for travel expenses for ACOG Medical Students attending ACOG National, District, or Section Meetings. Below are the current opportunities for your District.

 

District V (Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Ontario) ***DEADLINE EXTENDED***

ACOG's District V is proud to announce their annual Medical Student Essay Contest. District V is looking for original essays addressing the following topic: "Why I Am Interested in OB/GYN." To be eligible, submissions must be received no later than Tuesday, July 29, 2014. CLICK HERE for flyer and details.

District VII (KS, OK, MO, AR, LA, AL, TN, MS, Mexico)

District VII announces their 2014 John Gibbons Award. Submit your application/essay on : "Why you would benefit from attending this year's Annual District Meeting in Indianapolis, IN." To be eligible, submissions must be received no later than Friday, August 1, 2014. District XII (Florida) 2014 John Gibbons Award –

This year District XII will once again be using the ACOG John Gibbons award to fund medical students to attend the Annual District Meeting (ADM) since it was so successful last year. The District XII 2014 ADM will be held August 15-17, 2014 at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lake. District XII will fund at least 10 medical students to attend the entire conference (up to $400 each) and then partially fund another 10 students (up to $100) to attend the medical student session that will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014.
