The websites listed below identify training opportunities for health care providers on abortion.
Abortion Access Project
The Abortion Access Project seeks to ensure access to abortion for all women by increasing abortion services, training new abortion providers, and raising awareness about the critical importance of abortion access to women's lives. Abortion training primarily occurs in Ob-Gyn and Family Practice residency programs, although concerns have been raised about the lack of adequacy of training in both specialties
Center for Reproductive Health Research and Policy: The Kenneth J. Ryan residency training program in family planning and abortion
The Ryan Program provides funding and technical expertise to help ob-gyn residency programs comply with the abortion training mandate of the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Depending on the circumstances of each institution, the Ryan Program either supports the development or expansion of a hospital-based abortion service or facilitates a collaboration with a free-standing abortion provider such as Planned Parenthood.
