Information about past annual meetings
The 2015 Annual Meeting took place in beautiful San Francisco, CA from April 26-30, 2015. More than 3,300 attendees earned up to 31 CME credits while learning about cutting-edge topics in obstetrics and gynecology. A new daily concentration of presentations in key areas allowed attendees to efficiently focus on topics of most value to them: obstetric emergencies, operative gynecology, contraception, menopause, and patient safety and office practice.
In addition to daily plenary talks and e-poster presentations, learning opportunities included three- and six-hour postgraduate courses, four surgical tutorials and a live laparoscopic telesurgery session. Eight sessions were presented as “flip” classrooms, which allow students to learn content online more readily by watching video lectures, completing text readings, and considering discussion points usually at home before the lecture, and then completing “homework” in class to solve problems and discuss questions. Ten subspecialty societies presented up-to-date information on topics specially formulated to inform the practicing ob-gyn generalist.
The 2015 Annual Meeting also provided numerous opportunities outside the classroom. The Exhibit Hall featured more than 250 exhibitors and provided a home for a Career Fair with 30 prospective employers as well as ACOG’s first-ever participatory social media campaign, organized around the theme of “why I became an ob-gyn.”
