Advocacy & Health Policy: Go All-In for Legislative and Political Advocacy at the Annual Meeting

You’re in DC! Visit ACOG’s Legislative Advocacy Center and Advocate!

Located on the L Street Bridge, ACOG’s Advocacy Center will be open Friday through Tuesday during ACOG’s Annual Clinical and Scientific Meeting in Washington, DC.

Washington, DC is where many of the laws and regulations that impact your practice – in both good and bad ways – are born. As a health care provider and U.S. citizen, you can and must have a say in this process! Whether you’re a seasoned advocacy veteran or you haven’t thought about Congress since middle school civics class, the Advocacy Center wants to hear from you.

Come ready with all of your legislative and political advocacy questions! You will have the chance to interact with ACOG’s Government Affairs Team and discuss the issues that face your patients and your practice every day and help shape ACOG’s legislative and political priorities to fit your needs. Get information about a wide variety of federal, state, and political activities that ACOG currently has underway to support our specialty, and learn about hot topics on the move in the US Congress and Statehouses.

Annual Meeting attendees can get a free personal advocacy profile assessment and learn about the many different ways to join ACOG’s efforts to protect and advance the interests of ob-gyns and our patients.

Register for the Gellhaus and McCain Advocacy Breakfast and Espresso Bar

Rise and shine with advocacy! ACOG President-Elect Tom Gellhaus, MD, leads ACOG’s Gellhaus and McCain Fellows in hosting our 64th Annual Meeting Gellhaus and McCain Fellows Breakfast, “A Call to Advocacy,” on Sunday, May 15, from 7:30am to 9:45am the Archives Room at the Marriott Marquis. In addition to breakfast, this year’s event will feature a full espresso bar!

Following a message by the Honorable US Representative Ami Bera, MD (D-CA), and remarks from Dr. Gellhaus, some of ACOG’s McCain and Gellhaus Fellows will lead a vibrant discussion on the importance of being an ob-gyn advocacy leader, how to stand up for our specialty and our patients in the legislative and political arenas, and why advocacy is one of the most important ways that ob-gyns can lead and succeed.

Purchase tickets to attend through online registration or register onsite during the Annual Meeting at ACOG Registration to reserve your seat at the Gellhaus and McCain Advocacy Breakfast and Espresso Bar.
